download youtube videosHow do I download Youtube videos to put in powerpoints?

I want to add video clips to a project I'm working on about Pixar, but the computers at my school block Youtube. I've been told downloading videos to my computer and inserting them from there will work well, but how would I do that? I know how to get the video into powerpoint once it's on my computer, but I can't figure out how to download videos from Youtube.
From my point, maybe you can download youtube videos with a tool such as Video Downloader Converter then convert them into approprite file that the powerpoint needs, then embed them in the powerpoint. I learn about this tool from an article:

This is a better one that I use: http://download.cnet.com/Ultra-YouTube-Downloader-Free/3000-2071_4-75578414.html?tag=mncol;3

You can install the newest version of the Real Player---it's free. Once installed, when you go to Youtube, a blue/white link at the top-right of the video will pop up that says "Download Now". You can also right-click on the video to see this link. Click it and the video will download as a .FLV file to the Real Player library.

Use Any Video Converter to convert the .FLV to .WMV or any other PowerPoint compatible file.
Proceed to embedd the video as you wish.

Hope this helps
HI, so easy, just follow me. First, download youtube videos into your computer harddrive, many websites can free download youtube videos, such as splandoo.com. Then you should know, powerpoint supports wmv videos well,so you need to use a right software to convert the downloaded youtube videos to the ridownload youtube videosght wmv videos for Powerpoint. I am using RZ Video Converter which can convert any videos or audios between different formats with good quality, such as convert the downloaded youtube videos to the right wmv videos for Powerpoint, etc. Yahoo or google search and download RZ Video Converter. Hope it can help you.
1.Download Youtube video with the free software Leawo Free Video Accelerator ( )
2.Then convert the Youtube video to .wmv format with
Leawo Free FLV Converter ( )
3.Insert the .wmv video into PowerPoint
Step 1: On the Insert tab, point to Movies and Sounds, and then click Movie from File.
Step 2: Click the video you want to use and then click OK.
Step 3: After you click OK, you' are promoted with a message asking how you want the movie to start in the slide show. I recommend you choosing "Automatically "even if you want the movie to play when clicked. And that's done.
Tips:
1. This is the easiest way to insert a video.
2. Only video in formats of AVI, MPEG and WMV can be inserted in this way
3. Always put the movie in the same folder as your PowerPoint presentation. If you later move the PowerPoint presentation to another computer, copy the movie too. Keeping your movie in the same folder as your presentation ensures the link will still work. However, you should always test the movie on a new machine just to be certain. Re-insert the movie, if necessary.
In PowerPoint 2007, here is how to do this without having to download any extra software:

1. Find the YouTube video you would like to insert into your PowerPoint presentationdownload youtube videos.
2. Copy the URL for the video.
3. Navigate to www.mediaconverter.org (there are other free media converters, but I've tried and had success with this one) and click Enter a link.
4. Paste in the URL for the YouTube video and click OK.
5. Click Go to the next step.
6. Select an output file type (choose either avi or wmv) and click OK.
7. Click Start to begin the conversion.
8. When finished, click Download and save the file to your desired location.
9. In PowerPoint, select the slide on which you would like to insert the video.
10. On the Insert tab choose Movie > Movie from File.
11. Navigate to where you have saved the downloaded video and click OK.
12. When asked how you would like the movie to start in PowerPoint, click When Clicked (unless you would like the video to begin playing automatically).
13. Move and resize the inserted video as desired.
14. When you view your slide show, click the video to play it.
Click the video again to pause or stop it.
